Blessings of Paramacharya on my Husband
I was 15 in June 1962. My parents took me to Paramacharya camping near Pudukottai. My father D.V.Trivedi had known Paramacharya since 1935. My father was training the volunteers and also doing Sathyagraha.
One day my father had Darshan of Paramacharya and told him that he was driven away from house by his own four brothers at the age of 14 as they wanted the property to be shared between them and did not want to divide into five shares. They were all above 18 years of age. He further told him that he was living on temple prasadas and slept wherever he got a place and then he went to Madras and after two years he somehow reached Hubli where he met Maharaja of Ound who after hearing his story took him into his fold and taught him Suryanamaskar, lazium, sward fighting Asanas,Malkamba,Dhandals and Bitocks for a year or so and when he became 18 he asked him to go and live on the arts he had learned. My father continued and told Paramacharya that while he was walking through the streets of Hubli he saw people shouting to boycott the Videshi things and to use Swadeshi things and were burning foreign materials. My father removed his only coat and threw it on the fire and stood there. Their he joined the Sevadal movement and helped others to learn how to yous a Lati. Between 1927 and 1935 he indulged in lots of Sathyagrahas and went to Jail several times. In 1935 he was given the rank of Captain and since he knew Tamil was sent to Kumbakonam to lead a bunch of volunteers and do Sathyagrahas.
Mahaperiyava listened and said not to worry about the past and said I will call you Surya Namaskaram Trivedi. After that my father had Darshan of Paramacharya frequently. Paramacharya has blessed our family since then and even supported my father.
We reached Pudukottai and my father requested through a devotee attached to Madam for a Ekantha Darshan which was granted by Paramacharya. When I went into the hut with my friends all of is paid our respects to Paramacharya. My father started crying and he managed to tell Paramacharya that my son might lose his eyesight or life within a year because I was running a bad Dasha. I was wearing lenses (-13.5).
Mahaperiyava thought for a while and asked us to go directly to Thirukkadaiyur and meet Subramania Shasthri and tell him that Paramacharya has sent us for performing Aayush Homam. Paramacharya asked us to come after Navarathri. We followed the instructions.
After vijayadasami that year we immediately went to have Paramacharya’s Darshan and requested Ekantha Darshan. After some time We were called in. Paramacharya said to one of his assistant to go to Pooja Mandap and bring a copper plate which he has kept under the Lingam which was brought immediately.
Paramacharya called me to come near and asked me If I give you Sudarshan Yanthram you should put it in Silver ‘Thayaththu” and wear it in the neck using black thread. You should never wear any Gold. You should treat it as Sumangalis do when you change the thali thread. You should not remove it under any circumstances. When I agreed He took a lemon garland that he had on his neck and threw it towards me which I promptly caught. Paramacharya asked me to wear it and put some kungumam on the Sudarshana Yanthra kept in a lotus leaf and asked me to take the lotus leaf. Paramacharya Then told my mother to teach a sloka from Soundarya Lahari stating with the words “Gathe karnabyam”. My parents were in tears and after taking blessings we directly went to Trichy and bought a silver thayathu and black thread and came back to Mahaperiyava and my mother made me tell the sloka while my father tied it around my neck. The Matt people told us that he had kept the Yanthra under the lingam from the first day of Navarathri and We have never seen or heard Paramacharya bless any one like this. We again had Paramacharya’s Darshan and returned to Madras talking about Karunamurthi, Parameshwara Swaroopi Sri. Mahaperiyava.
I am now 68 and no wonder I am wearing the Thayathu on my neck and my eye sight remains the same.
I am yet to know whether I deserve such kind blessings of Paramacharya.
Jeya Jeya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara.
