The darkness of the night slowly thins away The dawn of the Sun is still away A group of ladies stands holding small plates Containing camphor and match box A flock of men wait clad in dhoti Outside the palanquin In the divine calm
The doors of the palanquin open slowly Grace in the form of HIM slides out With a serene face A breezy smile Holding dandam in one hand
The ladies light the camphor quickly Perform aarthi to HIM The men prostrate fully
In the wee hours of the pre-dawn The light of ushatkala darshan Brighten up the devotees life Much before the first ray of sunlight lighten up the earth.

Very nice compilation! Is it a translation from Sanskrit or your own in English? Thanks.

I encourage you to compose more of such verses - it will benefit many devotees who are not conversant with Tamil. Thanks.
