Pandavas spent the 12 years in the jungle.
They were also in the last stages of their Agyatavasam.
Duryodhana sent his troops, to spy on the whereabouts of the Pandavas.
The information pointed out to the possibility of Pandavas being in VIRATA DESHA.
Duryodhana started driving away the cattle in the VIRATA DESHA.
The the infuriated King of VIRATA Desha, sent his son to confront Duryodhana.
Brhannala (Arjuna) was the charioteer.
The Virata prince, saw Bhishma, Drona and Duryodhana, decided to run away from the battle field.
Arjuna, convinced him that he will fight the battle for him.
The rain of arrow stunned one and all.
Drona could immediately recognise hid pupil, who was disguised as a women.
Bhishma, asked Drona, if he could make out who the women worrier was.
Drona had to answer in such a way that Bhishma alone could understand what he had to say.
He replied thus
नदीजलम केशावनारिकेतु: नगाह्वयो नाम नगारिसूनु:
एषाङगनावेषधर: किरीटी जितवा वयं नेष्यति चाद्य गावः
It's interpretation under normal circumstances would be as follws.
नदीजलम - River water
केशावनारिकेतु:- Representing Keshava's Nari (Women)
नगाह्वयो नाम - One who has the name "Tree"
नगारिसूनु: - One who is the son of Nail's enemy
एषाङगनावेषधर: किरीटी - The women who is wearing the Crown is imposter
जितवा - To win
वयं - Us
नेष्यति - Taking along with me
चाद्य - (च अध्य) - now
घावः - cows.
This women who wears a crown is a imposter river water
He symbolises Keshava's stri,
One who has the name "Mountain",
We will win,
He takes away our cows
Not one word makes sense in this sentence.
It is also not grammatically correct.
This was intended to Duryodhana.
Bhishma, interpreted this in the following way.
नदीज! लंकेश (लम केशा) वनारि केतु: नगाह्वयो नाम नगारिसूनु:
एष अङगना वेषधर: किरीटी जित्व अव यं नेष्यति चाद्य गा वः
नदीज! - One who is born to Nadhi (Gangaputra Bhishma)
लंकेश (लम केशा) वनारि - लंकेशवन - Lankesh's Vana - Ashoka Vana
अरि - Enemy
(Lankeshwara's jungle is ASHOKA VANA. Enemy here means destroyer. One who destroyed Ashoka Vana - Refers to Hanuman)
केतु: - Flag
Thus, लंकेश (लम केशा) वनारि केतु: - one who has ANJANEYA in his flag. (This is on top of the chariot)
Arjuna has the rupa of Anjaneya, in his flag.
(Anjaneya, who had the Mantropadesha from Lord Rama, chose in advance to be in the flag of Arjuna, to hear Krishna's Githopadesam)
नगाह्वयो नाम- नगम also means tree. There is tree which is called "Arjuna Tree". Arjuna is named after the tree.
नगारिसूनु: - नग + अरी + सूनु: ----- गं - to move, नागं - immobile, अरी - Enemy, सूनु: - son
Nagam here means mountain. In the olden days mountains used to have wings.
Lord Indra cut their wings to make them immobile. Nagari refers to Indra.
Arjuna was born to Kunti, by the devine grace of Lord Indra.
Therefore here नगारिसूनु:, refer to Arjuna.

किरीटी - This was the name given to Arjuna by Lord Indra, in recognition of valour and courage

one who has been conferred the title of "KITRITI"
