From HINDU DHARMA - The Universal Way of Life
Where there is a vibration or moment or motion, there is sound.
This is strictly according to rational science.
Speech consist of vibration of many kinds.
We hear sound with ears.
From the workign of radio and telephone, one thing is clear.
Electric waves are converted to sound.
This is what we hear.
So what we actually PERCEIVE or HEAR is actually electric waves.
Science has come to one point of recognising -
The man who sees and listens and his brains are all electric waves.
There are countless inert objects in this world.
Mountains, Rivers and Oceans.
All these must have been created out of SOMETHING.
During creation this SOMETHING must have vibrated.
(For e.g when various constituents of earth move, it may give rise to Mountain)
And with each associated vibration/movement there must have been an associated sound,
Even thought process is a form of electric current or energy.
IT produces sound or vibration.
The sound is so subtle we are unable to hear them.
It is a known fact that there many bacteria, which we do not see, with naked eyes.
Similary sound produced by thoughts are so subtle we do not hear them.
Science accepts this principle.
Any physical or mental movement must produce sound.
The converse is also true.
To produce a vibration a particular moment must be produced.
The vibration you create in your throat when you sing is an examplre of the above.
Thus we come to the conclusion -
SOUND and VIBRATION go together.
Any creation is a product of sound.
When we clap our hands, the sound produced remains in space.
The same holds good for good as well as bad action.
These produce their own sounds as well as movements associated with them.
Conversely, the creation of these types of movements will result in good as well as evil
Applying this analogy, how do we produce good thoughts in people?
Produce Good movements to generate Good Sound.
How do we generate Good thoughts?
The mantras of the Vedas are sounds that have the power to inspire good thoughts in people.
We need for sustenance.
We need rain to grow food.
For rain the formation of cloud and precipitation is a must.
Rainfall depends on the production of particular sounds which, in turn, create particular vibrations.
The same is true for all our needs in life.
The only goal of VEDAS is the creation of well-being throughtout the world.
VEDAS are sound emanating from vibrations of Great Intelligence.
That is why we believe that the mantras of the Vedas originate from the Paramatman himself.
WE MUST TAKE SPECIAL CARE OF SUCH SOUNDS FOR THE GOOD OF THE WORLD.
