When we look at a house, we guess that there must be somebody who must have have built it.We know that so- and-so engineer had built it. When we see a vehicle, we guess that there must have been a person, who had made it. A lot of matters/items have been properly co-ordinated to make a house or a vehicle. We know that they have been made with an objective in mind. The house and the vehicle have not sprung up by themselves, or by accident. A "KNOWLEDGE" or "BRAIN" has made them with a purpose. So when we see things, that are made by combining a few items, in a particular disciplined way,we guess that there must have been a person ,who has made them. Therefore, this great universe, which is functioning according to a set of norms, must also have a "maker", is it not? When we look at this nature , which has created all these life around us, creating a lot of usefullnesses ,we realize that some great force must have created all this and that force is also making all these function and sustain. If we ask who has made this shed where we are all sitting, we have an answer. Who created this Banana tree ? We can not point to somebody whom we can see with our eyes. How ever, some person must have created it. That is why it is made according to some discipline, with layers and layers of soft barks arranged from inside out. With what sort of instrument, that "somebody" made this banana tree? we are unable to answer. Likewise, that hill, those stars, the moon ---who created all these? We are unable to point to some body. All these things have been created millions and millions of years ago.How to find the creator of all these? Let us look at this Rose flower. It was but a small bud two days ago.Today, it has blossomed into a beautiful flower. It has hundreds of petals, and in each petal, minute nerve lines, a nice fragrance, in it. Even though it has blossomed in front of our eyes, we still can not point out its creator. We ,the humans think that we know every thing. Suppose, an animal from the jungle, when it comes to this city( Madras), will be surprised to see all these new things of which ,it is not aware, the same way, we are also living in this universe. A person, wiser than the human, is keeping him that way.As all roses blossom according to one discipline, as all hills stand on earth, as all stars revolve according to one particular discipline,we realize that all these things have been created by the same "engineer"As the whole universe is bound by one cause and effect discipline,it must be a single knowledge, that has created all these. Man, who thinks himself as an expert in every thing, should realize that ultimate "expert", who has created all these things and the man.Because, he is not only the ultimate expert, but also a good person. He not only created all these but also sustains them and protects themIf we realize that the "expertise" which we are proud of, is gifted by him, and surrender and pray to him.He will do to us, nothing but good. And that " HE " is the SWAMY ( GOD). Source: Deivathin Kural----Vol.1

HARI OM ! IS THERE A GOD ?

HARI OM !TOPICS religion and belief True bhakti is a rare and divine experience, when a devotee enters into a one-to-one relationship with God. Bhakti Bhava is an ineffable feeling that cannot be described in words and at best can only be understood when experienced and savoured in one’s inner being. Knowing that sweetness inheres in sugar or honey is not the same as tasting the sweetness. The accounts of the lives of the Nayanmars which Sundaramurthy Nayanar in his Tiruthondar Thogai and Sekkizhar in Periyapuranam have recorded convey the strong bond that is engendered and strengthened when one lives a life devoted to the Lord, pointed out Sri Ganesa Sarma in a lecture. If each of these devotees loves the Lord in his own way, he also remains dear to Him. The Lord’s ‘Bhakta Vatsalya’ is such that He reaches out to each one of them in unique and astonishing ways. This provides inspiration and hope for every devotee who knows he can become dear to Him through upright living, sincere devotion and true love to Him.
Saint Gnanasambandar speaks of this devotion as overwhelming love for God. Manikkavachagar is equally overwhelmed to be a recipient of Siva’s irresistible grace and acknowledges with utmost humility that only through His grace and Sankalpa can one become a true devotee.
Kannappan Nayanar’s experience of God is manifest as unconventional worship that defies all normal standards and logic. Yet, it is clear that God looks only for the intense love behind the devotee’s acts of worship. Karaikal Ammaiyar’s devotion is simple but strong. She gives up her physical body to gain an apparitional form and undertakes the arduous pilgrimage to Mount Kailasa. She ascends the mountain walking on her head. Such devotion moves the Lord and He addresses her as ‘Ammaiye’. She prays to the Lord for undying blissful love; and relief from further births. She adds that if she is destined to be born again, she should be granted the boon of never forgetting Him.
