Lord Narasimha is one of the ten avatars of Lord Maha Vishnu. It is believed that Lord Maha Vishnu took the avatar of Lord Narasimha during the sunset of Shukla Paksha Chaturdasi titihi day with Swati Nakshatra on the month of Vaishaka (mid-April till mid-May) to slay the demon Hiranyakashipu.
Lord Narasimha is believed to be the 4th avatar of Lord Maha Vishnu. Normally, Lord Narasimha is depicted as half-man and half-lion.
