OM SRI GURUPYO NAMAHA:,RESPECTFUL PRANAMS TO SRI KANCHI MAHA PERIVA.
Some rare(not popularly known) instances in Ramayana.
1. Dasaratha actually divided the sacred payasam( Agnideva gave him) into 3 parts and gave them to his 3 wives. Agnideva and Vayu always remain great friends. Vayudeva desired that his son through Anjana Devi also should be as powerful as the ones to be born to Dasaratha and so Vayu swiftly lifted the share of payasam from Sumitra's hands and gave it to Anjana Devi and she consumed it and that is why Hanumanji born to her was as strong as Dasaratha's sons.
Finding Sumitra's share blown away, Kowsalya and Kaikeyi gave a portion of their share to Sumitra and as Sumitra gets 2 shares she got 2 sons out of them viz Lakshmana & Satrugna .
Since from Kowsalya's share Lakshmana was born, even though Lakshmana and Satrugna were actual brothers, Lakshmana was attached to Rama. Same reason for the other to attach to Bharatha.
This instance of Payasam born Hanumanji was envisioned by Samartha Ramadas who narrated it to his illustrious disciple King Vir Chatrapathi Shivaji.
2. When Sita was married Sage Yagnavalkya gave King Janaka a beautiful ring for Sita to wear for her welfare. No one except that sage knew then its purpose. Sita wore it always in her finger . Later when Sita was snatched off by Ravana and while she remained weaping under Ashoka tree she saw to her great surprise her ring getting Divine magical powers to " televise" SriRama ! Infact that was the first and smallest TV screen , very small though but enough area to give her an update picture of Rama's situation then ! She saw him in the same situation as she was in, not eating, caught in deep anguish etc etc.. That was a great consolation for her and gave her some strength to pull on and not breaking down totally and getting into a point of commiting suicide, an attempt she did begin when Hanumanji just arrived at that tree top ! Afterwards the television ceased to function since she was cheered up by Hanumanji and Rama's ring too arrived, also Vibheeshana's daughter Thrijata began giving her all update news about the arrival of Rama and His battalion in Lanka, the war details etc and cheering her up till Ravana was killed.
So Yagnavalkya's "TV screen"-ring helped her stay steady in the crucial period of time only.
3. Hanumanji brought Sanjeevini parvatha to revive the "dead" TWICE. Its purpose was to revive Rama & Lakshmana. Also all the vaanaras who died in the battle till then were also revived. One may wonder , in that case even the dead Asuras could have also been revived by it ! NO ! Because of the " foolishness" of Ravana who ordered all the dead asuras to be removed ;either burnt or thrown into sea so that the battle ground will be as if only the vanaras were killed and no Rakshasa was killed. That sort of a set up he ordered before he brought Sita to the battle field in his pushpaka Vimana to show her all the dead vanaras and the unconscious Rama and Lakshmana so that she would lose all her hope and yield to him ! But the plan misfired and soon he went back , with the arrival of Sanjeevini mountain all dead vanaras got up ! This was when almost all the asuras were slain and it was only Ravana to be killed. Rama took over and in the Rama-Ravana battle , Ravana was bewieldered to see thousands of Rama everywhere attacking him and so when the battle was all over NOT EVEN ONE SINGLE vaanara was lost !
This was a great achievement of Rama ! But Sita was innately sad because there was ONE SOUL who lost for her in the whole episode of retrieval of Sita..and that was JATAAYU the bird that fought for her and died. Jataayu is the ONLY ONE character in the entire Hindu Mythological scriptures who was cremated by the LORD HIMSELF and shraddham was performed by the LORD HIMSELF! But Sita did want to see the place where Jataayu died for her and offer her prayers. Therefore while returning to Ayodhya by the Pushpaka Vimaana ( which contained the entire battalion of Vanaras) , while they flew over that place where Jataayu was killed, the "Vimana" landed; Rama and Sita with others offered their prayers once again to the great bird. That great place is THIRUPPULLAMBHOOTHANGUDI ! Pull = bird; Am= azhagiya ie beautiful; bhootham= body ; gudi= place or temple.
It is very close to Swamimalai (near Kumbakonam).
