"Namaskaram Sir. Thanks for your wishes and we pray to Periva to bless all of us for a good year ahead.
As for the Pongal timings - depends on whether you follow Pambu (Vaakya) Panchangam or Drik-Ganitha Panchangam. Either way, the morning session goes on as normal until afternoon for everyone in the family except the person doing Tharpanam. The morning pooja, maha neivedyam etc can be completed as usual and family can have food - except the Tharpanam performer who has to remain in upavasam (can have milk, juices etc) and he should complete madhyahnikam and brahma yagnam also.
If we follow Pambu Panchangam, then the masa-pirappu is at 0430 pm approx. So we have to do a snanam then, perform tharpanam, around the same time light up the pongal paanai and start cooking. Once tharpanam is over, perform Surya Narayana Pooja and perform pongal nivedanam before 6 pm and have that prasadam (especially tharpanam performer who has been in upavasam until then).
If we follow Drik-Ganitha, then the masa-pirappu is at 0144 pm approx. So we have to do a snanam then, perform tharpanam, around the same time light up the pongal paanai and start cooking. Once tharpanam is over, perform Surya Narayana Pooja and perform pongal nivedanam before 0245 pm approx and have that prasadam .
Hope this is helpful. You may share this appropriately in the Forum or to other well-wishers, mentioning the source as Vedic Pandits and Elders.
Once again, thanks for all the fantastic manner in which you are engaging the Forum with your interesting posts.
