Hi,
My chitappa passed away at the age of 85, yesterday. We are visiting India after 2 years and had planned to visit our kuladaivam, tirupathi etc.
However, I dont want to miss this opportunity to visit the Manimandapam. Is there any restrictions?
Secondly, my wife and I had vowed to dress up Bhuvaneshwari amman at a local temple as thanks giving. Can we do it after 45 days or do we have to wait for the 1st anniversary rites to be performed?
Thirdly, since my late chitappa had no male children, he performed my poonal. I being overseas, could not participate in the last rites. What are the rites I need to perform?
Thanks in advance

I think this chitappa is your father"s own brother. Then if your father is alive now he has to do kuzhi tharpanam on tenth day; If your father is not alive now you have to do kuzhi tharpanam on 10th day here or in overseas. for one year you should not go to your kula deivam and also to other temples.

Further to my query, I will be attending my niece's (elder brother's daughter) wedding on the 11th Jun. Can I visit my widowed chitti and my cousins after that, or, is there a time period that I need to wait for? I am in regular communication with them, over phone though.
