We conduct Anusham every month as public function in our town. Lot of ladies also participate. While chanting rudram during the abhishekam, every one use to do abhishekam with milk to periyava. Now some of the ladies are afraid to do that. Can you pls clarify, is there any shastra or periyava stopped women doing Abhishekam?

Also any reference from scriptures or Periyava for this matter is available? brahma sri rajagopala ganapadikal has written in his sandeha nivarani book that ladies can do abhishekam to all vigrahams. lkadies should not do abishekam to saligramam and lingam. in 16 upachara pooja for saligramam ladies can do 15 upacharams except abhishekam.ladies should not chant vedas. they should not do homams. kindly go through all the 6 volumes of sandheha nivarani books written by brahma sri nannilam Rajagopala ganapadikal. many of your doubts will be cleared.very useful book. |
