We are very pleased to bring forth this announcement from one of our respected members Sri Ravi Sankar (nivartyravi) - I personally know him and am very convinced with the genuineness of all the efforts he is taking in this direction. He is one of the real ardent devotees of Sri Maha Periva and has been blessed to have personally interacted with His Holiness as well as having taken some of His orders.
Sri Ravi Sankar is one of the blessed committee members who are undertaking this Annabishekam and they are conducting this in a grand scale every year with His blessings (running for the past 30 years). I encourage each of you to take part in this occasion and receive His blessings. Those who cannot personally visit can certainly engage in this kainkaryam by making a donation to the committee, as per details enclosed with this mail.

26/10/15. (Monday) .Mahabhishekam to Lord Brahadeeswara and Ambal BRAHANNAYAKI.
27/10/15 (Tuesday) .Annabhishekam to Lord Brahadeeswara, evg Navavarana puja , Sahasranam Archanai to Ambal Brahannayaki
Kanchi Mahaswamy , in the year 1983 ,when 365 cans of Ganges water was brought from Haridwar , by Mettur Swamigal ( then....Mettur Rajagopal Sir )serving Kanchi Mahan For HH Snanam , Maha Periava diverted this to Gangai Konda Chozhapuram near Jayamkondan Ariyaloor dist for Abhishekam to Lord Brahadeeswara, temple constructed by King Rajendra Chozhan 1 ( 1014 Ad - 1044 AD) about 1000 years back .
His Holiness appreciated that Ganga water Abhishekam to Shiva Peruman Brahadeeswara is taking place after approx 1000 years by His devotees each one a king now!!
This Abhisheka water ,H H wished is brought for his Snanam that time .
In the subsequent year again when Mettur Rajagopal Sir approached H.H. For fetching Ganga water Mahaswamy instructed as follows.
H.H.Mahaswamy wanted to repay the debt incurred by Kanchi Mutt when Mutt was moved to south towards Kumbakonam few centuries ago (approx 1740 to 1760 AD) Stationed at Udayarpalayam Jamin, Protecting Bangaru Kamakshi and Kanchi Mutt for many years.
GKC Temple had huge property that time and substantial amount was spent by Udayarpalayam .Jamin from these temple funds towards Mutt expences . Periava , asked few devotees and visitors standing around to calculate interest for all these years and none could utter a word .
Ariyalur , Jayamkondan area is dry through the year where people had difficulties to cultivate . H.H. Prompt solution .... "Lord Brahadeeswara being one of the biggest lingas (13.5 in all ) can be fully covered with Annam on IPPASI POURNAMI ...Annabhishekam day every year by Mutt Devotees . This will bring plenty of rain and SUBHIKSHAM to all in the entire area and around.This is the only way the debt can be repaid to Lord as monetary compensation is unpracticable.
With Mettur Rajagopal ( Mettur Swamigal) as main leader and few mutt devotees joined and carried out the Annabhishekam with collection of roughly 100 bags of rice and available funds . As we know there was little support from locals at that time , Temple also in depleted conditions under Archeological care as monument , day to day temple needs sparingly met , Annabhishekam was conducted in a nice manner.
It is 30 years now grown as a local major festival where many thousands throng to this place .By the grace of Lord Brahadeeswara , ABARITHAMANA ANUGRAHAM by H.H. Mahaswamy , with the blessings of H.H. Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and H.H. Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, Annabhishekam and other functions are performed by Entire Gangai Konda Chozhapuram people and around village devotees , Local Elites , Mutt Devotees from all places organised with a team of committee members .
HR&CE Tamilnadu give us full support with other Govt Depts during these days.
Nearly 6000 people are fed with Sumptuous lunch that day , good quantity of people on Mahabhishekam day . Apart from this huge qty of Neivedya Prasatham distributed in temple premises on all these days .
Annabhishekam cooked rice later in the night taken from Lord Brahadeeswara is made as 4 parts as instructed by H.H,Mahaswamy that time and distributed as follows .
1) Rice taken out in top Baanam portion to all Bakthas seperately added with Sambar/Tamarind paste etc.
2) Middle portion to animals like cow, Goat, etc 2 and 4 legged Souls,
3) Bottom portion is divided into two parts , one portion mixed in the water for water living Jeevans like Fish etc and
4) Another in the open land for insects etc.
What a vision H.H. Periava had to feed all Jeevarasis! That Annabishekam day each cooked rice particle done as Abishekam is considered as a Shivalinga.
H.H.Mahaswamy is with all of us all these time guiding us . Comittee members and devotees have been seeing many miraculous happenings year after year.
