Dear Members, On this special day of Gopashtami / Goshtashtami (31 October 2014) - a special day to honor Go (cows) and Go-palas (those who maintain cows), we are pleased to publish this special video which is a compilation of Periva's advice and orders on the subject of Go Samrakshanam. We must all pledge to do our best in saving and protecting all cows in our own vicinity. Make it a point to visit any Goshalas around your area today and also regularly, offer puja or prayers to Cows and make it a habit to donate some amount to the Goshala on every special occasion within your family - like any birthday/anniversary etc. We all must support every Goshala in our region by other means also - like going in for cow milk instead of the mixed ones, support by buying pure Goshala Vibhuti (sacred ash), make use of the Gomayam and the sacred Panchagavyam (which is supposed to cure even bone related diseases as per our Vedas) etc. Recent study has proved that pure Gomutra intake regularly has the capability to identify and kill cancer cells, and can save someone from early stages of cancer. Let us commit and pledge to protecting and supporting our Gomata, and all Goshalas on this wonderful occasion. May Periva's blessings be there on all of us to move in the right direction. Our special thanks to our moderator Smt Sumi for having compiled this nice video.

Our Jagat Guru Sri Maha Periva says in Deivathin Kural:
One of the slokas which Syavana Maharishi says about the cow is:
Nivishtam gokulam yathra swasam munchathi nirbhayam Virajayathi tham desam papam chasyapakarshathi
நிவிஷ்டம் கோகுலம் யத்ர ச்வாஸம் முஞ்சதி நிர்பயம் | விராஜயதி தம் தேசம் பாபம் சாஸ்யாபகர்ஷதி ||
The meaning of the sloka is: “That country where cows have no fear of any cruelty being inflicted on them and live peacefully in gokula, all sins will go and will shine”.
