Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – How are we and Swami one and the same? What are the impediments that are differentiating us now? Very interesting chapter that ends up with an interesting question as well.

No difference between Jeevatma and Paramatma as well
When there is no second thing, it is pertinent to mention one important thing. There is one world, called Mokshaloka, much superior to Bhooloka, Swargaloka, etc., where Swami resides and which releases (a person) from bondage. It is the same, referred to as Vaikunta, Kailasa, etc. Many philosophies say that this act of He taking a Jeeva there and keeping it with himself, permanently, is called Moksha. That is, in Moksha also, there are two – Swami and we. We are distinct from Swami. Their conclusion is that Swami is distinct from us. They say that what we refer to as ‘Swami’, with devotion or theologically, it is Paramatma, when mentioned philosophically and that Paramatma and Jeevatma (we) are distinct from each other; these two are two different persons, i.e., ‘Dwaitham’. This Paramatma is the cause of all living worlds, the Brahmam. As it controls and rules everything, it is also called as ‘Eswara’.
However, did we not see that as per Adwaitha, a Jeeva undergoes the worldly experience only when there is a mind and when the mind is transcended and the Maya is overcome, it becomes everlasting peace? In the same way, the world which gives him the experience, his mind, minds of others, all these, have been created by the Brahmam with Maya. Maya for Brahmam is like the mind of the Jeevan. Just like the mind is not our true self, for Brahmam also, the state of being together with Maya is not the true self. The state of Brahmam being the Eswara, when He controls and rules everything and that there are those who are being controlled and ruled – the Jeevatmas, are not the acts carried out from His true self. Similar to we being at eternal peace, as a soul without any action, when we are rid of the mind, Brahmam also is in the state of being its true self, when detached from Maya. It is more correct to say, ‘this (we, removed from mind) is similar to that (Brahmam without Maya), rather than saying ‘that is similar to this’. Because, only after it has taken over the Maya, the appearance of Jeeva, his mind, etc., have all come about. If we go on dwelling in this vein, it would be wrong to refer, ‘this is similar to that, ‘that is similar to this’, etc. There is no similarity or anything. That is this. Jeevan is only Brahmam. If it is absolute peace, in the true state when Brahmam is without the Maya and the Jeevan is also at absolute peace, when it is without the mind, are they both not the same? When the Brahmam has created the world with Maya and created in that world, the Jeevan with a mind, it only means that the same Brahmam is appearing as the world and the Jeevans. When the mind is detached from the Jeevatma, he becomes the Brahmam itself. There are no two Atmas as Jeevatma and Paramatma. Only one Atma. And that is called, Brahmam.
When Swami takes us to the Vaikunta or Kailasa, howsoever exalted it may be, howsoever big the joy that He may provide us, whatever may be situation, both He as well as we are not in our true selves, our own selves. Both are not in the state of total rest as an ocean of peace. We are doing a work, showing our Bhakti. He is also doing a work, blessing us. It is not possible to do Bhakti, without a mind. Even if it is a mind without any blemish, still a mind has to be there. If it is there, it only means that not being our own true self, we are identifying ourselves with it (mind). When we are so, not being our own true self, howsoever exalted our action may be, will there still not be a shortcoming that it is not absolutely truthful? Therefore, when Paramatma decides to bless us the ultimate, He thinks that let me not give him (Jeevatma) even the work of doing Bhakti and let me also not have the work of blessing, which is again, an external act, because when he is distinct from us, he is actually identifying himself with the mind, which is different from him and loses the identity of Self. It should not be so. We also need to keep the Maya, for doing the work of blessing. This also should not be there. Therefore, He will decide to, “let us remove the mind totally, will keep him with ourselves, as the soul, Brahmam” and bless us the Adwaita Moksha. There are no two different Swami and Devotee. In the Vedantha Philosophy, reference to that there is no second thing as Dwaitam, it is only this Devotee and Bhagawan, that is, Jeevatma and Paramatma are not two different things. The lack of distinction between Jeeva and Brahmam, only is Adwaita.
That is Moksha. There is no separate Mokshaloka. It is only the Moksha experience.
There is no activity there. For doing anything, mind is required. Where mind is there, the state of true self, will cease to exist.
In the beginning of our story (as we recall it), Dhakshinamurthy, the embodiment of this Moksha experience, thought, most mercifully, that while we are sitting without reflecting on anything, these people are indulging in various activities, that too, wrong ones, troubling themselves and others.
If we say, He thought mercifully, does it not mean that He also did an act with a mind? Then, what is the meaning of saying that He is a soul immersed in the eternal joy of Moksha and being in a state of inaction?
