Dear Members,
We are pleased to bring you the Twenty Third edition of the e-book series from the Kanchi Periva Forum. As you might be aware, we have been regularly publishing free ebooks with a view to disseminate knowledge about the Hindu tradition & culture, and more importantly carry the message of Sri Maha Periva to our members by setting His discourses within the appropriate topic and in the right context for the readers to read and relish the same.
While it is a challenging task to turn out such ebooks regularly every month – including the collation of appropriate content and putting these together with Periva’s messages etc – the task has been very efficiently carried out by the various contributing members and moderators of this Forum, thus making it possible for us to deliver a precious gem every month. As we approach the completion of two years in delivering such ebooks (next month would be the 24th edition of our ebook - apart from the special series we did on Periva's life history which ran for 12 volumes), we also take great pleasure in sharing the news of this satsang crossing the 3000 member mark very recently.
We are very glad to present this month’s ebook on the topic “Advaitam and Idol Worship” by yet another respected member of our Forum – Sri R Vasudevan. This is a brilliant exposition on various aspects of Hinduism and would be an immediate help for elders struggling to explain the foundations of our religion to the youngsters demanding some scientific explanation.
Though many facets of our culture & tradition transcend the boundaries and reach of modern day science and logic, some of the basics can still be explained reasonably – which is sought to be achieved in this title. It would really be a matter of great satisfaction if each of you realize the great value packaged into this nice title and get energized to answer some of the tough questions from the youngsters.
We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Sri R Vasudevan for coming forward and sharing this wonderful work with our members. Our gratitude also goes to our esteemed member Smt Uma who brought in the idea and introduced Sri Vasudevan to us.

As you might be aware, this is the latest in the series of ebooks which we have brought out on "The Essence of Hindu Tradition & Culture". If you are interested to take part in this seva as an author / co-author, or if you wish to submit your feedback on the same, please write to us at: kanchiperiva@gmail.com
We also invite you to regularly visit our parent website www.periva.org which has a rich treasure of information, articles and a large collection of direct audio files of Periva's Upanyasams.
Note that once the file opens up in Google, you can save it to your local drive (Ctrl+S works in most browsers) and view it at leisure. Some of the photos and letter layouts also look better in a local copy, rather than the online version rendered by Google.
Please feel free to distribute this to appropriate circles of friends and relatives.
