Dear Members, For all devotees of the Mahaswami, the Anuradha (Anusham) Nakshatra is precious to us as Sri Maha Periva Himself. This year, we would be celebrating His 121st Jayanthi. This year's Jayanthi of Maha Periva is all the more special as it is the exact year ('Jaya' Varsham) of the avatar of the Living God. 1894 - was the first 'Jaya' varsha that brought the God to earth, and got us His personal blessings 1954 - was the next 'Jaya' varsha when HIS 'SashtiyapthaPoorthi' was celebrated in a simple manner at Kanchi This year 2014 is the third occurrence of the 'Jaya' varsha. Many of us have not had the privilege and bhagyam to partake in the earlier two occurrences of 'Jaya' varshams. Let us atleast make the best use of this opportunity, and get together to celebrate HIS Jayanthi is great grandeur this year. Details of the event: Date: Thursday 12th June 2014 Time: Event Commencement by 0600 AM IST Venue: Kanchi Mahaswamy Anantha Mandapam, adjacent to Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Adyar, Chennai The trustees of Dharma Paripalana Sabha and Guhananda Charitable Trust have come forward to join us in this great celebration yet again and we have decided to conduct this in a grand fashion, thanks to the Sabha. We request you to come in large numbers and obtain Periva's blessings on this special 'Jaya' Varsha Vaikasi Anusham day. We also require volunteers to assist us with the pooja arrangements, crowd management, distribution of prasadam etc. To confirm participation and volunteering, we have published a survey form which we request you to complete. தமிழ் வருடங்கள் 60. அதில் இருபத்தெட்டாம் வருடம் தான் ஜய வருடம்.
1894 ஜய வருடத்தில், வைகாசி அனுஷ நக்ஷத்ரத்தில் அவதரித்தார் அந்த அனுஷ ஜோதி , நம் மஹா பெரியவா.
13 வயதில் சந்யாசம் பூண்டு, காஞ்சி காமக்கோடி பீடத்தை அலங்கரித்தார் நம் நடமாடும் தெய்வம்.
1954'இல், அடுத்த ஜய வருடத்தில், எளிமையான சஷ்டியப்த பூர்த்தி கண்டார் அந்த தவயோகி.
இப்பொழுது நடப்பது (April 2014- 15), மூன்றாவது ஜய வருடம். ஆதலால் இந்த வருடம் வைகாசி அனுஷத்திற்கு கூடுதல் சிறப்பு.
சாதாரணமாக, தெய்வ சந்நிதியை மூன்று முறை வலம் வருவோம். நம்மில் பலருக்கு முதல் இரண்டு ஜய'தில் பங்கேற்கும் பாக்கியம் கிடைக்கவில்லை. அதனால், இந்த மூன்றாவது 'ஜய' திலாவது நம்மை இணைத்துக்கொள்வோம். காஞ்சி பிரிந்தாவனதிலிருந்து இன்றும் அருளாசி புரிந்துகொண்டிருக்கும் நம் மஹா பெரியவாளின் ஜெயந்தி விழாவை கோலாகலமாக கொண்டாடிடுவோம.

Dear Members, We are glad to provide this next update on Periva Jayanthi Celebrations 2014. With His eternal grace guiding us, we have been able to put together one more event on the evening of 12th June at Sri Sankara Gurukulam, Abhiramapuram with some wonderful programs blended in. Please see below the updated program schedules: a) On the Morning of 12th June 2014, Thursday, commencement by 0730 AM IST, expected to end by 0100 PM IST Venue: Kanchi Mahaswamy Anantha Mandapam, adjacent to Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Adyar, Chennai The trustees of Dharma Paripalana Sabha and Guhananda Charitable Trust have come forward to join us in this great celebration yet again and we have decided to conduct this in a grand fashion with a Laksharchana for Periva, which will be performed by competent vaidhikas. We will also have an abhishekam done for Periva, during which Prasadams would be regularly distributed. At the end of the function, we will have an Aarati performed and all Bhaktas would be able to make floral offerings to Periva's Divya Pratyaksha Padukas. Please ensure that you also collect the packaged Prasadams and gifts before you leave the venue. b) On the Evening of 12th June 2014, Thursday, commencement by 0545 PM IST, expected to end by 0900 PM IST Venue: Sri Sankara Gurukulam, C P Ramaswamy Street, Off St Marys Road and Abhiramapuram 4th Street, Abhiramapuram, Chennai Update: As an additional development, we are commencing the evening program by 0545 PM, since a bunch of local kids wanted to dedicate some Bhajans as their mark of respect and devotion to Periva. Please join us in time to enjoy the wonderful rendition by the little kids.We are glad to have the association of Sri Sankara Gurukulam, Guhananda Charitable Trust and Devan Endowments Trust to make this a wonderful evening for celebrating our Periva's Jayanthi. There would be a book release function on this day ("Kadavuludan Vaaazhntha Kaalam" in Tamil) and devotees would be able to receive a copy of this book during the function itself. This would be followed by a wonderful upanyaasam on Sri Maha Periva by the great Vedanta exponent, ardent devotee of Sri Maha Periva - "Brahmasri", "Mahamahopaadhyaya","Saastra Ratnaakara", Dr. R Krishnamurthy Sastrigal. Jaya Jaya Sankara. M apologies for not attending the morning session. It was a divine opportunity to participate this evening at Sankara Gurukulam paying obeisance to Mahaperiyava! Talks on Mahaperiyava are opportunities for us to corroborate and correct all actions executed till then and establish a fresh faultless path. Mahamahobadyaya Sri Krishnamurthy Sastrigal gave a glimpse of Periyava's greatness along with appeal to spread the dharma path propounded by Him. Profusely thanking Mahaperiyava Forum for this opportunity. Thank you for the copies of books.

A quick update.
We have been receiving requests by many of our members to upload the video/photos of the Periva Jayanthi Celebrations. We have asked Swasthik TV to share the DVD, and they have assured to give it to us by this weekend once they complete the editing. So, in all probability, we will be able to publish the video over the weekend.

We are pleased to upload some of the videos from the Periva Jayanthi 2014 Celebrations. The entire video DVD is a collation of about 7 hours of data, and we are trying to extract small clips and are putting them together for your viewing. It appears to be His divine plan that the video shot in the last Anusham be reaching us only for the next Anusham, as we are publishing this on the 9th July 2014, Anusham.
For your convenience and ease of viewing, we have reduced the resolution of the video and uploaded so people using lower bandwidth connectivity also can see this without much issues.
