Dear Members,
We would like to bring to your kind attention that the Anusham coming up on December 2, 2013 is a very special day, and brings together the following great specialties:
Please make use of this great day to make your poojas and submissions to Sri Maha Periva, who is Lord Shiva Himself and is also the linking thread for us with the Amaa-Somavaaram and Sridhara Ayyaavaal too.
Let us also pray to Thiripurasundari Samedha Lord ChandramouLeeswarar, Goddess Kamakshi, Ganga Maatha, Bhagavan Adi Sankara Bhagavatpadar, Bhaagavatottama Sri Sridhara AiyyaavaL and Maha Periva to Bless us all.
May Sri Periva bless us all with his kind showers of grace and allow us to remain immersed firmly in His bhakti forever..
Our special thanks to our respected member Sri kahanam for compiling these events together.
We would like to bring to your kind attention that the Anusham coming up on December 2, 2013 is a very special day, and brings together the following great specialties:
- Dec 2, 2013 happens to be a Karthikai Somavaaram - a Monday in the Tamil month of Karthikai, which is highly suited for poojas to Lord Shiva. Further details may be looked up on this site: www.hindu-blog.com/2008/11/karthigai-somavaram-kartika-somavara.html
- This also turns out to be the Amaavaasai day (New moon day), which with a combination of Monday is spoken of highly by our Sastras. This occurrence is called Amaa-Somavaaram and is the best time for us to perform circumambulations / pradakshinas to the Aswatha Vruksha. Periva, in His discourses, has mentioned about the importance of doing such pradakshinams and making offerings of neivedyam to the tree (to be finally distributed to all as Prasadam)
- Incidentally, the day of Dec 2, 2013 also marks the special occasion of Gangaa-aakarshanam, which is an important incident in the life history of Bhagavatottama Sri Sridhara Ayyaavaal. Sri Ayyaavaal, along with Sri Bodendhraal, helped to establish the Naama Sankeerthana tradition in our region, and is highly praised by Periva again. Sri Ayyavaal brought Ganga to the well in his residence in an important event of his life, details of which may be read from here: www.sriayyaval.org/lsdetail.html
- Finally, this day brings to us the revered Anusham star for the month of Karthikai. Anusham, for all of us, is as important as Periva Himself. We have posted the Volume 6 of Periva's Life History for this special occasion ( periva.proboards.com/thread/5913/special-series-glimpses-perivas-history/ ) thanks to our respected moderator Sri Subi Anna's (subi24) untiring efforts.
