OM SRI GURUPYO NAMAHA:,RESPECTFUL PRANAMS TO SRI KANCHI MAHA PERIVA. I HAVE READ THE FOLLOWING IN A BOOK.'Saints and Scholars have recommended the nyAsa with puruSha sUkta before reciting Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra. This process, described in Agamas and Tantras, was given as Upadesha to an elderly friend of mine by H H Sri Sri Abhinava Vidya Tirtha Swamigal, Jagadguru Mahasannidhanam of Sri Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada Peetham. The merit of reciting the Sahasranama is multiplied manifold times by following this process.
I would be grateful to have some guidance from Sri Sarma Shastrigal of our forum on this.

Kanchi Maha Periva Thiruvadigal Saranam You quote some lines and say that that was the opinion of Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam. I do not have any idea about the book that you cite. Moreover how do you expect me to give my opinion or comment upon on something the Acharyal says. My Sastanga Pranams at the Holy feet of the Sringeri Acharyal. However I may hasten to add that I do have some ideas based upon the guidance that I got from the elders of my family and my Gurunathar Sri Sri Pudu Periva on this subject. We will see it later on some other occasion.

Respectable Sri Sastrigal ji, Namaskarams, Thanks for your reply message.kindly log in the web site :-http://www.kamakotimandali.com/stotra/purushasuktanyasa.pdf

Those who have Gurupadesha can recite the shapamochana mantra. The mantra would be useless unless received through an initiation by Sadguru. "

In my view some technical aspects are involved in it. The context also is important. Sri Maha Sannidhanam would have recommended it for a cause to the addressee. Mere recitation of Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam itself has infinite benefits. Purusha Suktha is a part of vedas and I dont think Sri Maha Sannidhanam would have prescribed such a nyasa for women. Anyway the point is ensure that it applies for all of us because, we should not generalise personal upadesams done by Acharyal for specific people.

Great to read the Upadesam of Jagadguru! Possibly it has been given to the addressee for a specific purpose. Chanting Vishnu Sahasranaamam confers countless benefits. Maha Periyava sometimes asked devotees to repeat the chanting after one chanting is completed. Purusha Sooktham is the Vedic chant on Paramaatman, the Maha Purusha! Om Namo NaaraayaNaaya!
