Namaskarams
I use to get depressed occasionally.
Whenever I feel that I am lonely, and I dont have anyone to really support, I get even more depressed, anxious and frightened.
In this state of mind I am making my mother cry, hurting her whenever I feel that she is not understanding me and my needs.
Last few days I really made her become panic and I am not able to control my negatve emotions and thoughts. I feel that I have no mukthi from the present state of affairs.
I also have made my father suffer when he was alive.
Please help me to be free from repetition of this wrong doing and its ill-effects and related fears. Please advise me to be free from the clutches of illness and cruelty. And also advise me some prayaschitta/ papa parihara kriyas/ puja prescribed in shastras.
I want to lead a moral, pious and good life.
Sincerely Venkat

Maha Periyava Thiruvadigal Saranam.
What you have mentioned is typical of Depression. All of us face challenges in life. How we react to these situations define our feelings and vice versa. As a physician, I would recommend you start taking an anti depressant of the SSRI class. And do not stop these medicines at least for a year, maybe longer. You will begin to feel better in about 2-3 weeks. With your symptoms, not only do you suffer, but also make your loved ones sad. While prayers and prayachithams can supplement your strength, what you need is medicines and perhaps some psychological counseling as well.
With Maha Periyava's Blessings you will be alright soon.
Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara.

Dear Sri Venkat,
Periva Saranam.
The very fact that you realize that you need to change your behaviour is itself a good sign.
Medicines are addictive and although it Will give you temporary relief, there is more harm than good in the long run.
Ultimate faith and complete surrender to the Guru is very important. You need to put your life in HIS hands and HE will guide you. You need a strong resolve to practice this.
We are born in this world as per our karma. You need to realise that no one can be exoected to be with us till the end of our lives. All relationships are transitory, and you will feel lonely when you develop an attachment towards them.
Read a chapter of Deivathin Kural everyday. Periva teaches us how to stay detatched. Try to practise HIS teachings. Involve yourself in a good cause and put your mind and heart to it. That will itself keep you mind and body busy and you will not have time to think. Meditate for atleast a few minutes everyday. It will stop your mind chatter.
Let Periva be with you.

Hi sir, worship Lord Siddhi Vinayagar and attend pradosham pooja regularly.
Listen to upanyasams by acharyas and read real life incidents of jnanis and mahans, also their teachings.
