A fervent prayer of a devotee.-M.S. Gopalakrishnan.
My shashti abdapoorthy was celebrated in 1993 at chennai at a simple religious function. After the celebrations, my wife and myself went to Kanchi to offer pranams to HH Maha Swamigal. HH was gracious to present us with a laced KUNJITHAPADAM. Lord Nataraja at Chidambaram is worshipped, in His cosmic dance aspect. The right leg,is rooted to the pedestal on which a crawling figure of a little demon is seen. The raised left foot sports a KUNJITHAPADAM. This is a symbolic representation of the ecstasy and bliss of being a witness to continuing cycle of creation, maintenance ,and dissolution of the UNIVERSE, at the macro and micro levels eternally. The devil, named, as Muyalagan, is the symbol of the differentiated aspect of the JIVA caught in samsara.
I am keeping the KUNJITHAPADAM in my prayer room. It is my daily prayer, that the knots of bondage that bind my heart and soul get loosened, my doubts get dissolved and MAHASWAMIGALS eternal grace abides ever to lead me on to that freedom and bliss, through this yantra(symbol), from birth to birth!
I had a dream experience in January 1994, days before HH attained Maha samadhi. In the dream, there was a large crowd of devotees.I was lurking behind at a distance frantically longing for a darshan, waiting for HIM to turn back in my direction.... Agonising moments passed....to engulf the experience. Suddenly HH turned and cast a benedictory look by raising His arms.the vision disappeared in a trice. It was early dawn to make it vivid. Elated and confused at the same time, I woke up, not realising it was a parting gesture. Three or four days later, I rushed to kanchi, after hearing the news in the evening. I had darshan next morning at kanchi, with both THEIR HOLINESSES, standing by the side in reverence of their guru, an avatar of Adi Sankara, to rejuvenate the Santana dharma of Hinduism . Present in HIS SUBTLE body even today, the JIVAN MUKTHA lives in the hearts of His devotees to bless them ever!
In Arunachala Padhigam, Bagawan Ramana affirms that Arunachala, when even remembered, gives Mukti and if there is a medicine quick to relieve suffering , it is Arunachala. Whenever I chant this concluding stanza of the padhigam, I raise my hands in prayer, and supplication, at my age of 85, to HH to bless me with that medicine of His Grace!
