OM SRI GURUPNAMAHA RESPECTFUL PRANAMS TO SRI KANCHIMMAHA PERIVA
Radha Krishnan,
HARA Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara !
Jagadguru Sri Maha Periyava - Kanchi Paramacharya
Experiences with Maha periyava: “Apoorva Sankarar”
It is evident through the experiences of many devotees that Sri Sri Sri Maha Periyava, who has the greatness of Sukha Brahmarishi, who is among us and blessing all of us, is none other than the incarnation of sakshat Sankara.
Sri Periyava’s devotee, Kumbakonam Srinivasa Sastrigal, narrates the following incident.
Sri Adi Sankara’s sishya (disciple) Sri Padmapaada, in one of his works, praises Sri Adi Sankara as “He is Apoorva Sankara, who is none other than the incarnation of Sri Parameshwara, one who left out His snakes, elephant-skin, tiger-skin, ashta aishwaryam (wealth), and took sanyasa roopam along with His disciples, as Adi Sankara.”
Now, Sri Srinivasa Sastrigal experiences that Sri Sri Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal, our Maha Periyava is none other than that Apoorva Sankara.
Sri Sri Sri Maha Periyava was camping in Sivaasthanam. 12-year-old boy came towards Sri Periyava and stood there. He started crying and told, “Sri Periyava! I do not have my father. My mother and sister are living in a house in Bombay. My mother is working as a cook in that house. They put me in a Christian convent in Madras. I am studying in the eighth grade. I am scoring good marks. Now, in my school they are asking me to convert to Christianity and told me that they will make me study till M.A degree and also get me a job.
But, I do not have any inclination to get converted. I want to get my Upanayanam done. I am not getting any letters or communication from my mother for the past 4 months. I do not know what happened to my mother and sister.”
That boy told everything and kept weeping. Sri Periyava instructed the boy to stay in Sivaasthanam itself. 10 to 15 days passed by. No one had any clue on how Sri Periyava was going to bless that boy.
One day, for Sri Periyava’s darshan, around 40 people came to Sivaasthanam. They all told that they were coming from Bombay. They returned after having Sri Periyava’s darshan. Sri Periyava instructed the attendants to call them back. Everyone came back. As Sri Periyava asked all of them to tell their names and other details, they all became extremely happy.
While everyone was introducing themselves, when one of them told his name, Sri Periyava instructed the attendants to bring that boy. Sri Periyava then asked that boy to explain his situation to him. That gentleman was moved by listening to boy’s current situation. He had not seen the boy before. But, he could guess from the details that his mother and sister were in his house only.
He told Sri Periyava that he had not seen the boy before and his mother and sister used to stay in his house. But the lady had passed away four months back. He mentioned that he tried to pass the information to that boy through the convent officials. There was no response. So, did all karyams for his mother through his sister. He also told that after Sri Periyava’s darshan he was planning to go to Madras and look out for him. But, because of Sri Periyava’s grace, met the boy in Sri Periyava’s sannidhi itself.
Then, Sri Periyava instructed, “Take this boy with you to Bombay. Get all the samskarams for his mother done through him. Take care of him as though he is your own kid. Also, it is your duty to get his sister married”.
How can one know the connection between unknown people unless He is none other than Iswara?
