A DAY WITH THE LIGHT.
Part 15.
Sri Vidhyaaranyaal, has said, “There are three kinds of ‘Brahmagnani’s-----one, those who are always in the state of ‘Samaadhi’ unaware of the outside world, two, those wisemen who are always in the state of ‘Searching’ of the Atma, and those who associate themselves with worldly concerns. Sri MahaPeriava belongs to the third type, who enacts all the drama in the world, being in the state of ‘Brahma Gnanam’ always. In the Puja ritual also He follows the same practice as per Sastras, as He does in other matters.
He will do Archanai only if the Bilva leaf and the ‘Thumbai’ flower (தும்பைப் பூ) are exactly as per Sastras.
Even during the rhythmic and spirited performance of Archanai, with His minute sixth sense, He will detect any defect in the flower or leaf, and throw it away and take another one.
It will be separate world when He starts Archana to Ambal! Irrespective of whether it is an ordinary day or a special day, He will go on reciting Ashtothram, Thrisathi, SahasraNamam etc. Not one SahasraNamma, but many, and it will go on for hours. Because of this, even an ordinary day will be transformed into a special day. Then, at that time, the Bakthi emotion will swell up. Suddenly, Archanai will stop. With fixed eyes, He will be looking at Devi, who is in the form of Sri Chakram. We will not be aware of either the Sri Chakram or Devi. Sri Chakram will be camouflaged with clothes and ornaments. Only the ball of sandal paste fixed on It with Kumkum smeared on it , will be visible to us. But what He visualizes is entirely different! In that visualization, tears will flow from His eyes sometime. He will laugh some time; sometimes that laughter will be full of joy, and sometimes, it will be that of a Divine—intoxicated (பித்தன்); in some other time, people will think ‘Is it a ghost?”. He will join both the hands, spread out His palms towards Ambal, and will be talking a lot to Her; The next moment, the rhythmic, spirited Archanai will start again.
The devotion and humility He displays while doing ‘Kumkuma Archana’ is amazing! In order to make sure that not one particle should fall on the ground, He will press together the thumb and the forefinger tightly and see that the Kumkum falls on the deity directly. His tender fingers will be reddish with bruise due to this being done for hours together.
