Dear fellow-devotees,
This is a very nice forum to share our experiences with MahaPeriva. While
many of you were fortunate to have interacted with Mahaperiva at a much
younger age, my first experience with that great living God came much later
- when I was around 40 years old and worked as a General Manager of an
engineering company in Madras.
Accompanied by my entire family including my parents, I had visited Kalavai
to have a darshan of MahaPeriava. Because of heavy crowds, and poor
management by the local police, we could only get a glance of Him. I was
very disappointed and frustrated to the extent of picking up an argument
with the policemen who were merely standing as onlookers and not doing
their jobs. It left me with a deep desire to have His Darshan again but for
a longer time.
Many weeks later, I got a call from my company's manufacturing unit in
Ranipet that the Acharyas would be visiting the factory next day morning
and I was invited to receive them. Aho Baghyam, Aho Baghyam, - how can
express my joy! I had the good fortune and blessings to receive MahaPeriava
with Poorna Kumbam right at the gates of the factory. He answered my
prayers to such a generous extent that I spent over one hour with Him at
close range - so close to receive Him and walk along with him by the side
on the road. He suddenly stopped at a wayside temple built around a large
tree trunk and asked me what temple it was. I had absolutely no idea though
I had passed that way many times. I felt ashamed at my poor observation.
The temple had some roofing and a narrow entrance. MahaPeriva bent down and
went inside the temple. It was a Pillayar Kovil. He said there must be a
Hanuman too - and sure enough there was the Hanuman idol right behind the
tree trunk.
After this first unforgettable incident, I had several interesting
experiences with him. No doubt, the "Nadamadum Deivam" speaks with his
devotees and takes care of them.
Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara!
