There are MahaPeriyava's words : We need to gain something by listening to the Digvijayam of Acharya. We should make a Digvijayam into our own mind and clear up all the foolish notions. Acharya’s teachings begin with ‘Bhaja Govindam’ and end with the principle of ‘Paramatma’. In the ‘Bhaja Govindam’ He says ‘It does not matter if you do not know anything. Just chant Govinda, Govinda’. ‘Yama does not waste a single moment. Each moment he is getting closer to us. We do not know when he will grab us. If we surrender at the feet of Govinda and hold on to them, we need not fear Yama’. We should always chant Govinda Govinda. We have food regularly. If we chant Govinda Govinda while eating, the food that is taken in this frame of mind will help in inculcating devotion. As the essence of the food accumulates in the body, devotion to God will increase. We are never going to stop taking food. With this simple practice of chanting the Govinda Nama, we will stop talking about other (unnecessary) things. We will also develop the discipline of avoiding prohibited foods. Consumption of pure food is essential for purity of mind. The habit of consuming various things at various places is the main reason for the psychological problems and lack of discipline these days.
